Bringing Better Health Care to Lower Everest Region: The New X-Ray Machine Installation at the Hospital

One such example is the new X-Ray machine installation at the Wongchhu Sherpa Memorial Primary Hospital in Lower Everest Region. On January 6, 2023, a team from the Himalayan Yokpu Foundation departed to Khamding for an inauguration program of an X-ray machine and CCTV installation. Vibing the long drive from Kathmandu, the HYF team reached the hospital site in the late evening.

January 7, 2023, overall work for CCTV installation and inauguration of the X-ray machine was accomplished. The inauguration of the X-Ray machine was spearheaded by the mayor of Solududhkunda Municipality Mr. Namgyal Jangbu Sherpa, the Chairperson of Ward no. 10 Mr. Hom Bahadur Thapa Magar, and the health coordinator of the Solududhkunda Municipality Mr. Chamar Magar. The program was witnessed by representatives of Solududhkunda Municipality, health personnel of Wongchhu Sherpa Memorial Primary Hospital, a crew member of the Himalayan Yokpu Foundation, and reporters from Solu FM & Himal FM.

The installation of the X-Ray machine has not only made it easier for patients to receive a diagnosis, but it has also increased the accuracy of diagnosis. This has made it possible for a health service provider to provide more effective treatments, leading to improved health outcomes for patients.
